In many of my window shopping trips to makeup stores and high end stores I somehow always manage to at least purchase something that I will eventually include in my kit. This trip was no exception. While in the search for a new primer for myself I came upon this new mineral primer.
It’s called Hourglass and their site claims that it will conceal any redness, minimize the appearance of pores, help soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles, repels water to make makeup look fresh all day long plus it also has SPF 15 to protect you from those pesky UV rays.
When I tried the tester my first immediate sensation was of very, super, fine milled liquid powder. I know it doesn’t make sense, but that’s exactly how it felt. After just rubbing it on my skin it almost immediately turned into a very fine powder and disappeared leaving my hand feeling very soft and supple. I gave in and purchased the travel size.
Started on a clean moisturized face
Sorry it’s a little grainy
I accidentally did a pump and a half, a single pump is enough for your face. I applied it to my entire face but focusing on my cheeks and nose more so that you can see the difference.
Sorry it’s a little grainy as well
After I applied it I waited approx a minute before I took the picture so that I can give it at least some time for it to be absorbed into my skin. After I took this picture I touched my face and felt it really soft, I mean, super soft. I did notice that my pores looked a bit more smaller and blurry, for all I know it could have been the mud from last night doing it’s magic 😉
Here’s a side by side comparison
You can actually see the difference on how it masks your pores to make them almost seem gone.
I think this is a great product to have. I would recommend it for anyone with normal skin. I also purchased another one for my kit to use on my clients. At the price of $18.00 for the travelers size (approx 0.3 ounces) and $52.00 for the full size (approx 1 oz) at this point I would just stick to the travelers size because you don’t need a lot and it can definitely go a long way.
Have any of you used this product before? Do you enjoy it? What has been your experience with it?

Ah!!! This thing is my holy grail!! I used the sephora 20% off for the full size but I think it makes a huge difference. But everyone has different skins and preferences. =)

Oh yes! I am loving it at the moment, you know how some primers tend to sometimes get a bit oily after a few hours of wear? I’ve noticed this does’t, so I love it even more!
Thanx for reading doll!

No it’s the Perfekt brand. I only bought it because a sephora employee me talked me into it. She said a crazy lady came into the store and bought it all because it was so good. Lol that’s what I get for being a sucker.

Oh no! It almost makes you wonder if they are fully trained to at least know that not all products work the same. We’ve all been there, myself included, learned learned too lol

Lol very true. I think that sometimes that why do they hire ppl who don’t even look like they wear makeup! Lol

That just scares me. Many women believe that because they work at a beauty store that they automatically know either skin care or makeup for each individual person and I don’t think that is the case. We have to remember that it is still a business and they’re goal is to make us buy their products.

Definitely! Not a problem, I’d do it with pleasure! I believe in the same thing. In order to be heard and relay your message you have to be able to communicate with people in the blogging world, you just never know what opportunities or what benefits you can learn and apply to your own craft.
